The architects combined Gothic and modern styles in the design of the building. Black brick on the frontage of the building (symbolizing coal) was selected to give an idea of solidity and to give the building a solid mass. Other parts of the facade were covered in gold bricks (symbolizing fire), and the entry was decorated with marble and black mirrors.

Amy Elliot, chief administrative officer of the Okla. office of the chief medical examiner says 20 of the confirmed fatalities are children:

The Oklahoma City Red Cross will open shelters as first responders assess damage. The organization says in the immediate aftermath, the best way to help is to donate at RedCross.org or text REDCROSS to 90999.

The Salvation Army has mobilized a number of emergency relief services in Oklahoma, including Moore, to dispense food, hydration and emotional support to first responders and survivors. Donate online or text STORM to 80888 to contribute $10 to the Salvation Army’s relief efforts or make a donation via phone at 1-800-SAL-ARMY.

I never once in my life thought I would live to see this day in any country on earth. So much of my life has been spent doing unpaid work-cleaning, cooking, organizing, and household-running….whether or not I had a “real job”, no matter what other obligations I have had. I STILL do the majority of housework. There is more than one reason my url is what it is.

Never in all my days would I have imagined I would see the day that women of color are paid for this amazing contribution to the running of the world, in any country, at any time.

Now if you will excuse me, I’m going to go cry tears of amazement that this has happened for any of us, anywhere, until there’s snot.

Originally, Worf was conceptualized as a minor recurring character for the first seven episodes of The Next Generation as a temporary “Klingon Marine” aboard the Enterprise, but the “presence” Michael Dorn brought to the character in the pilot episode impressed producers so much that they decided to make him a regular.

it’s because michael dorn is THE klingon. his presence and acting style redefined the entire species. it wasn’t the ridges that changed the klingons…it was dorn.

Brad Bird, director and writer for The Incredibles (and Edna Mode’s voice) has declared to be getting ready for the film’s sequel. He admitted it was because “he loves those characters and their world”. He has already thought of many elements he thinks would work great for The Incredibles 2, but has to first finish Walt Disney Pictures’ Tomorrowland with George Clooney and Hugh Laurie, which will be released December 2014. This could mean that the film could be coming in 2016 or 2017.

The discovery of the Treasure of El Carambolo sparked interest in the Tartessos culture, though it is still under debate whether these treasures were a product of local culture, or of the Phoenicians.
