Smaug and the Necromancer are his two parts. IDR what the Necromancer did, The Hobbit was a long time ago :o

Huh… yeah, ditto, no idea. I’m very, very amused that he is getting his bad boy self on, though. Like, Sherlock is too much of a good guy and now he’s having to take all these villain parts to balance it out? XD

The Necromancer was Sauron in his Voldemort (Books 1-4) phase; hiding out in Murkwood, most of his power gone, but still a threat. He doesn’t really appear in the novel itself, but he is what Gandalf was dealing with during one of the times that he disappeared on the group. It looks like they will be showing Gandalf doing that to stretch out the first part of the movie a bit.
